What's New in Make Book Jacket 4: the Biggest, Most Exciting Release Yet!
Change Spine Thickness Whenever You Want!
Jackets are often created before the thickness of a spine is known. No problem. Files made with Make Book Jacket 3 or higher can be adjusted after they've been created. You can change the size of the spine, covers, flaps, etc. See it in action!
Preview Mode for Jackets
Looking at a jacket, you see all parts at once. With one click, preview layers cover the extra stuff so you see just the spine, cover, etc. like readers would see it on a bookshelf! Once you see this feature in action you won’t be able to design without it.
Save Your Own Presets
If you frequently use the same sizes and settings, save them as presets. Presets can easily be shared among co-workers. Ditch your old stash of template files and switch to Make Book Jacket 4!
Customizable Defaults
Make Book Jacket’s main dialog has many options that let you choose how a jacket is made. Previous versions did not remember your preferences, so you had to change them every time. Now you simply check on “Make These Setting the Default” and it will remember them.
Spine Safety Guides
You don’t want type or art too close to the spine edge. Spine guides help you stay a safe distance away.
Starter Layers
Some InDesign users like to separate design elements such as type and graphics onto different layers. In Make Book Jacket 4’s new Preferences you can have it create the layers for you and name them as you see fit.
Preferences Dialog
Version 4 has more features and more control, yet the interface is even easier to use. The main dialog has been streamlined with just the options you need. Extra options that are best set globally have been moved into a separate Preferences dialog. You can set them once and forget about them.
